How we can help
We make children’s eye tests relaxed, friendly and age-appropriate.
Our team takes the time to explain each step in simple language and uses suitable tests for your child’s age, confidence and communication level. We assess eyesight, eye coordination, focusing, tracking and general eye health.
We can also discuss signs you may have noticed at home or school, such as headaches, eye rubbing, losing their place while reading, sitting close to screens or avoiding visually demanding activities.
When further support is recommended, we will clearly explain the findings and the available options, without turning the appointment into a fog of technical jargon.
Tips for your visit
Let your child know that an eye test is not an exam they can pass or fail. There are no trick questions, and it is perfectly fine if they are unsure of an answer.
Bring any current glasses, previous reports or information from teachers, occupational therapists or other health professionals if relevant.
It can also help to make a note of any concerns you have noticed, including headaches, blurred vision, reading difficulties, squinting, tired eyes or changes in school performance.
For younger children, booking at a time when they are usually well-rested and comfortable can make the visit smoother for everyone.
