Contact Lens Fitting

What is it?

A contact lens fitting is a detailed assessment to find lenses that suit your vision, eye shape, comfort and lifestyle. Contact lenses are not simply chosen from a prescription alone. The size, shape, material and design of the lens all influence how well it sits on your eye and how comfortable it feels throughout the day. A proper fitting also considers your tear film, eye health, wearing habits and whether you need lenses for distance, reading, sport, occasional use or everyday wear. With the right advice and careful fitting, contact lenses can provide clear, natural vision and a welcome break from glasses.

How we can help

Our team will assess your eyes, discuss your daily routine and recommend contact lens options suited to your individual needs.

We carefully measure the shape of your eyes, check your tear film and assess how trial lenses move and settle. We can help with daily disposable, reusable, multifocal, astigmatism and specialised contact lens options where appropriate.

If you are new to contact lenses, we will also teach you how to insert, remove, clean and care for them safely. There is no need to arrive already knowing the secret handshake.

Follow-up appointments allow us to check your vision, comfort and eye health once you have worn the lenses in everyday conditions. Our goal is to find lenses that feel comfortable, provide clear vision and fit naturally into your routine.

Tips for your visit

Bring your current glasses, contact lens packaging and any lenses or solutions you already use.

Think about when you would like to wear contact lenses and what matters most to you. This may include sport, social occasions, work, travel, convenience or freedom from glasses.

Tell us about any previous difficulties, including dryness, irritation, blurry vision or trouble handling lenses. Even small details can help us recommend a better option.

If you are trying contact lenses for the first time, allow enough time for the fitting and handling lesson. Learning may take a little patience, but most people become much more confident with a little practice and friendly guidance.
