How we can help
Our team can carefully assess the health of your optic nerve, retina and macula as part of a detailed eye examination.
Depending on your needs and risk factors, this may include checking eye pressure, examining the back of the eye, assessing peripheral vision and using advanced retinal imaging or OCT scans. OCT imaging can reveal detailed changes around the optic nerve and retina that may not be visible through eyesight testing alone.
We will explain the results clearly, compare them with previous findings where available and recommend an appropriate review schedule.
If anything requires further investigation, we can arrange referral to an ophthalmologist or other suitable specialist. The aim is not to create worry, but to catch small changes before they become much larger problems.
Tips for your visit
Bring your current glasses and medication list.
Tell us about any family history of glaucoma, macular degeneration or significant vision loss, as this may influence your level of risk and how frequently your eyes should be checked.
Mention any changes you have noticed, including blurred or distorted central vision, difficulty seeing faces, missing areas of vision, trouble adapting to light or reduced side vision.
Do not wait for your vision to feel noticeably worse before booking an examination. Glaucoma in particular may develop without clear early symptoms, making regular eye checks one of the most useful forms of preventative maintenance your eyes can receive.
